Research

Specific areas of study are listed under individual faculty profiles. These studies have been and are currently funded through several sources, including federal agencies (NIH/NIDR, NSF), industry (G-C Corporation, Sybron-Kerr, 3M Dental Products, Shofu Corporation, Centerpulse Dental, Vident), and foundations (ADA Health Foundation, Oregon Health & Science Foundation). Collaborative research efforts exist between faculty in the department and others at the Baylor College of Dentistry, the OGI School of Engineering, Oregon Medical Laser Center, Osaka University, the Medical College of Georgia, the University of Bristol, the Ohio State University, the University of California San Francisco, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and NASA-Glenn Research Center. Department members routinely present the results of their studies at meetings of the several research societies, including: Academy of Dental Materials, American and International Associations for Dental Research, Society for Biomaterials, American Society of Biomechanics and SPIE.
