Part task training has been a frequently
used method of health care related training.
Full size manikins, IV arms, injection, catheterization
and tracheostomy care models populate the typical
clinical learning lab where health care professionals
learn the basics of a particular skill prior to entering
the real clinical setting and performing that skill on
a real patient. The skill can be broken down into
separate sections, each of which is taught and
practiced separatelybefore bringing the parts
together and practicing in appropriate combinations
until the whole procedure has been mastered.
Part task trainers allow the student to practice some
operational functions independently from other functions.
