A Pilot Study Investigating 18F-FLT-PET as a Marker of Response to Preoperative Radiotherapy in Soft Tissue Sarcoma
The purpose of this study is to find out how accurate and useful a new imaging technique, a type of PET scan that uses labeled thymidine, is in assessing the response of extremity soft tissue sarcomas to radiation treatment.
Extremity soft tissue sarcoma
Participants are patients with histologically confirmed intermediate or high grade soft tissue sarcoma, who have gross disease defined as ≥ 1cm visible on CT or MRI and who plan to be treated with neoadjuvant radiotherapy and resection. Participants must be greater than 18 years of age.
