Title

Molecular Mechanisms of Tumor Evolution and Resistance to Therapy

Principal Investigator

Raymond Bergan

Study Purpose

The purpose of this study is to set up steps or procedures that can be used by researchers and doctors to get biopsy of cancer and blood samples from patients with either of prostate cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer or acute myeloid leukemia.
The steps or procedures include tests looking at specific DNA mutations that cause and propagate cancer. These tests are aimed to find mutations that can be targeted by specific drugs that are referred to as "targeted agents". This study will not offer any treatment based on the results of the tests. Some of these tests are in an approved laboratory at OHSU which can be reported back to the patient and their doctor upon patient's request. Other tests are experimental in nature and will not be reported back to the patient.
