Title

The OHSU Pancreas Community Registry

Principal Investigator

Brett Sheppard

Study Purpose

The purpose of this study is to collect family history, health history, and other demographic data from participants with pancreatic cancer, family history of pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis, diabetes, hereditary pancreatitis, pre-malignant pancreatic lesions, or other related cancers. We will also collect data from subjects with no history of pancreatic diseases to use as controls. This data will be used to understand the history of pancreatic diseases and in preparation for future research. The data may be used to identify potential participants for future research studies to:

• identify new markers for early diagnosis of pancreatic disease such as genes, proteins or chemicals made by the pancreas
• aid in recognition of other diseases that may be confused with cancer
• understand pancreatic cancer risk factors such as chronic pancreatitis and how it leads to pancreatic cancer
• identify new markers for early diagnosis of non-pancreatic cancer diseases such as pancreatitis or diabetes
• predict the natural history of pancreatic diseases
