Title

Reconstructing the Tumor Genome in Peripheral Blood

Principal Investigator

Paul Spellman

Study Purpose

The purpose of this study is to determine whether tumor cells and tumor DNA from an individual's tumor can be identified in blood and used as a direct tumor marker to monitor disease. If the tumor can be detected in the blood with good quality and sensitivity, providers could monitor the cancer with a simple blood draw. This could aid in determining an individual's response to treatment, how the tumor changes over the course of treatment, and detecting recurrent disease very early.
