Title

The development of the ovarian cancer genome

Principal Investigator

Paul Spellman

Study Purpose

The most common and lethal ovarian cancer shows only a handful of cancer causing point mutations in each patient’s tumor. Instead, tumors development appears to be dependent on altering the structure of the genome. We propose to use new methods that we developed to understand when changes in the ovarian cancer genome occur and use this knowledge to develop tests for early detection of ovarian tumors and to identify therapies effective against these early tumors.
