Contrast Ultrasound Perfusion Imaging in PAD
The purpose of this study is to try to determine whether ultrasound imaging of blood flow in the muscle of the legs (perfusion imaging) can provide valuable information on the severity of blockages that can be used to guide therapy and to determine prognosis.
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is being studied. It is a condition where blockages occur in the blood vessels that supply blood flow to the legs.
Subjects who have been diagnosed with PAD.
18 - no upper limit
Healthy Volunteers Needed
Duration of Participation
There is one study visit for most subjects. However, for patients who are being studied prior to undergoing surgical revascularization (leg bypass surgery or balloon procedures), we would like to repeat the contrast ultrasound study 3-4 months after the revascularization procedure so a second visit will be required.
