PVAMC / OHSU: Cruciferous Vegetable Intake and Histone Status in Screening Colonoscopy Patients
The purpose of this study is to see if cruciferous vegetables (like cabbage or broccoli) in the diet can reduce the chance of colon cancer.
Colon Cancer, diet, prevention
Scheduled for screening colonoscopy; age 50 and older; no prior history of colon cancer; non-smoker; having a low intake of cruciferous vegetables (no or less than one serving per week) or a high intake (five or more servings per week).

Duration of Participation
One study visit within three weeks before colonoscopy.

$25 for the screening visit, $25 for at least two telephone diet histories, $25 for completion of study. Maximum compensation $75.
