Oregon Liver Tumor Registry

Study Purpose
The objective of the Oregon Liver Tumor Registry (OLTR) is to establish a centralized community resource that will aide in the identification and study of individuals who are at risk of developing liver tumors or cancer, so that an overall reduction in this cancer is achieved. The development this registry is proposed in order to address the need for improved treatment and screening methods and to establish a liver specimen bank and epidemiology database for future cancer research and collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria
The following criteria must be met for study entry:
1) The subject must be at least 18 years of age to personally consent to joining the registry.
2) The subject must be competent to consent to the study.
3) The subject must have a previous or current diagnosis of primary or secondary liver or biliary tract tumors.
4) If the subject does not have a known liver tumor they must have a medical condition associated with a known risk of liver tumors, particularly cirrhosis of any cause.
Subjects from any family where a known inherited syndrome has been detected, or is suspected, will also be eligible to participate in the OLTR, so long as the first two study criterion is met. For the purposes of this registry, acceptable syndromes are those suspected of increasing the risk of liver cancer development.
