The primary role of RGC is to assist faculty and staff with research proposals in accordance with a wide array of agency
requirements. RGC provides this assistance in the following ways:
- Assists investigators in understanding the steps required to submit a grant, arrange for a sub-award, and negotiate a clinical trial agreement.
- Presents campus-wide/department training
- Provides one-on-one grant/contract advice and assistance
- Reviews all form pages for completeness and accuracy
- Checks budget figures and reviews justification
- Supplies necessary assurances
- Secures institutional signature
- Provides follow-up with funding agencies on pending applications
- Coordinates set-up documents with Sponsored Projects Administration when proposals are awarded
- Coordinates formal correspondence and information to and from potential sponsors
- Negotiates award language when necessary
- Creates, negotiates and finalizes subawards
