Albert Thompson, MD Bayshore Family Medicine
Pacific City
Albert is married to Myra, a Family Nurse Practitioner at Bayshore Family Medicine. The last of their 4 children has just flown the coop: Their oldest son is in International Public Health in the Peace Corps, Guyana South America; Son #2 is the Practice Administrator at Bayshore Family Medicine; Son #3, a sophomore, and Daughter, a freshman, are in college.
Albert's non-professional time is spent juggling several interests: music (a pianist) with Myra an excellent alto and flutist and their 4 children who play violin, viola (2) and cello. His favorite music activity, however, is conducting and he will be doing so this December with the Central Coast Messiah production with 100+ voices and orchestra.
Family activities are a high priority. Back packing, hiking and an occasional get away to the family cabin on Wallowa Lake are coveted events. He is currently working on establishing an equine assisted therapy program on his 33 acres just out of Lincoln City. He is also looking for a good season this year in the family's U Cut Christmas tree and wreath operation.
Albert is school board chairman for the 90+-student school associated with their local church. When there is time for relaxed reading and talking, theology and religious philosophy are favorites.
Given the choice he would finish off with a little digging in the dirt and landscaping to free the mind.
Albert is chair of the Steering Committee.
