Curriculum - PAR in UCEDDs
The curriculum is intended as a tool for use by UCEDD professionals and Community Advisory Councils' representatives that are using or planning to use a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to improving the health of people with disabilities.
This curriculum uses a simple tree metaphor to show how participatory action impacts research. The research process is like the roots of the tree. The roots support the trunk and branches. The resulting leaves and fruit are the outcomes of the research.
The curriculum is arranged in three modules. These cover a wide range of information about research and PAR. Within each module there are suggested questions and/or discussion points, definition of terms, specific examples, ideas for additional resources and other valuable information.
