Kimberly Guion, Ph.D.

Dr. Guion will begin her faculty position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University and Child Development and Rehabilitation Center starting on September 1, 2011. Dr. Guion completed her Ph.D. at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010.

Currently, Dr. Guion serves multiple roles within the Division of Psychology. Dr. Guion manages the inpatient consultation service, providing psychological assessment and intervention to inpatients with chronic and acute illness and triaging consultations to other psychologists within the division. Additionally, she is involved in ongoing outpatient therapy cases providing treatment to children, adolescents, and families in the Behavioral Pediatrics Program and in the general Psychology Outpatient Clinic. Regarding outpatient care, Dr. Guion also conducts one day of psychological and psychoeducational evaluation each week. Dr. Guion is also a member of the interdisciplinary Healthy Lifestyles team, providing education and intervention to children and adolescents with obesity and their families.

Dr. Guion actively participates in training activities including managing the psychology portion of the pediatric care rotation for OHSU medical students and supervising the "Psychology Only" assessment major rotation for psychology interns. Her research interests in the past have focused on adolescent adjustment to chronic medical illness. Her recent research efforts include service utilization evaluation of mental health services in pediatric primary care and psychology inpatient consultation.
