Anne Turner, PT, MS
Turner joined the faculty at the CDRC in 2000. Her clinical and research interests are primarily in areas related to problems in infants, children and adults with neuro-developmental disorders. Specifically, she is interested musculoskeletal and developmental motor issues for children and healthcare access for adults with cerebral palsy and related conditions.
Turner is the Director of the first and currently the only pediatric physical residency program in the country, credentialed in 2006 by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). An APTA member since 1994, Turner has serves on several committees related to pediatrics, residency program development, and health care access issues for adults with developmental and motor issues. Turner has been an active member of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) member since 2002, serving on the Lifespan committee and the newsletter committee. She is a manuscript reviewer for the AACPDM journal, Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology. Turner has served on the board of directors for United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Oregon and Washington since 2005, and is now Vice Chair. Her committee work with UCP has focused on research projects related to healthcare access for adults with cerebral palsy. She has co-published in several journals and been invited to present at professional conferences both locally and nationally.
Turner is involved with physical therapy training at several levels. First, as the Division of Physical Therapy Director of Training, she provides oversight to the residency and entry level internship program. Second, she provides direct clinical supervision to residents and interns seeing patients through our outpatient treatment program. Third, she serves as a coordinator for pre-physical therapy students seeking volunteer and observational experience in pediatrics.
