Translational Modeling Program

Acting as an advisor or mentor to faculty who wish to do experimental research utilizing translational animal models in the area of gender medicine.

Offer expertise in:

Experimental and translational animal model development
Rodent reproductive physiology
Rodent surgeries relative to gender research such as ovariectomy, castration, and sex steroid hormone replacement techniques
Rodent anesthesia
Peri-operative care and management of laboratory animals
Development of IACUC protocols
Institutional compliance issues relative to animal use and training
Breeding management of genetically engineered mice

Provide resources or access to resources with normative data for various laboratory animal species.

Program services will be provided by the research division of the Department of Anesthesiology & Peri-Operative Medicine.
