About the Editor:
Christopher B. Griffin, M.D., is the Chief of Thoracic Imaging
at the Portland (Oregon) VA Medical Center. He is also an Assistant
Professor of Radiology at OHSU. Dr. Griffin received his B.A.
in mathematics at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington,
in 1984, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He graduated from medical
school at OHSU in 1988. Following a transitional internship, Dr.
Griffin completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Wilford
Hall USAF Medical Center. He then served as the Chief of Radiology
at the Fairchild Air Force Base Hospital in Spokane, Washington,
for 3 years. Following his service at Fairchild, he completed
a fellowship in thoracic imaging at the Medical College of Wisconsin,
under the guidance of Lawrence R. Goodman, MD, FACR. Before joining
the faculty at the Portland VAMC and OHSU, Dr. Griffin was Chief
of Thoracic Imaging and Assistant Professor of Radiology at Louisiana
State University in Shreveport. Dr. Griffin's research and academic
interests are the screening and management of lung cancer, and
economic issues related to diagnostic imaging in medicine.
