Application Information
All appointees must have a personal
interview. Residents must be graduates of an approved school of medicine
or osteopathy, have completed one year of post graduate clinical training,
and have completed basic life support training. All appointees are required
to be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Oregon prior to
beginning of training.
In order to be considered for an interview, candidates for the OHSU
Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program must submit an application and all
requested materials by November 1st through the Electronic Residency
Application System (ERAS). Applications are only accepted through ERAS.
A complete applicant file must include:
- Personal Statement (1-2 pages)
- Dean's letter
- Official grade transcript
- Letters of recommendation from three physicians or medical
scientists who have worked with you recently
- Individual photograph
- USMLE or equivalent step 1 board scores
After each resident's application file is complete, it is reviewed by the Program Director or his designee.
The Radiology Education Committee composed of the Department Chairman,
the program director, 4-8 faculty members at large and the chief
resident interview candidates for residency from the applications.
Approximately 70 candidates are invited for interviews which are scheduled
during December and January.
Residents are selected on the basis of academic achievement, the dean's letter and compatability with the programs goals and intellectual atmosphere.
The OHSU Diagnostic Radiology program
participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP #159962), and
