Women's Imaging Fellowship
The application deadline for OHSU Women’s Imaging Fellowship Program for 2011 is 10/15/2009.
This fellowship will include training in breast, gynecologic and obstetrical imaging. Half of the fellow’s time will be spent in breast imaging and the other half split between gynecologic imaging and obstetrical imaging. The fellow will be expected to participate in an ongoing research project or develop a research project and will be allotted one protected academic day each week for this endeavor. In addition, the fellow will help with the preparation of monthly perinatal and weekly breast conferences and be involved in the teaching of our radiology residents.
The fellow will be involved with all aspects of breast imaging and procedures including including mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, ductography, breast biopsy, and wire localizations. Gynecologic training includes MR interpretation, hands on endovaginal scanning and learning how to catheterize the uterus for fluoroscopic and sonographic evaluation of the endometrium and fallopian tubes. Obstetrical imaging training includes performing and interpreting high risk OB ultrasound in our perinatal center, run in conjunction with the obstetrics department, and exposure to fetal MR.
Facilites
The breast center is located in the Kohler Pavilion, accessible by vehicle or aerial Tram, at OHSU. We have 2 Lorad mammogram units, a prone biopsy table and a dedicated breast ultrasound room. A screening reading room and a separate diagnostic reading room include Hologic, Agfa and Dynacad reading stations.
The Perinatal Center and outpatient ultrasound clinic is in the Physician’s Pavilion at OHSU and contains 7 ultrasound machines (2 with 3D capabilities) and a fluoroscopy suite. The department also has two 3T magnets and two 1.5 T magnets.
OHSU is located in the west hills of Portland, Oregon. Endless outdoor recreational activities are easily accessible from the city. The ocean and mountains are less than 1-1/2 hours away.
