Body Imaging Fellowship
We are now accepting applications for the OHSU Body Imaging Fellowship Program beginning July 2008.
There is one position open for this fellowship, which will include rotations in
CT, MRI and Ultrasound. The primary emphasis is clinical; however, there are opportunities for participation in ongoing research projects or development of research projects. The fellow receives much “hands-on” experience including image-guided aspirations and biopsies as well as graduated autonomy and responsibility. The fellow is also actively involved with the residents rotating through the imaging section and with interdepartmental clinical conferences. OHSU offers one protected academic day each week.
Facilities
OHSU has four multi-detector CT scanners, one of which is a 64-slice MDCT. In addition to OHSU being a level-1 trauma center, it has very active oncology and transplant surgery services.
The department has two 3T magnets and two 1.5T magnets. One has echoplanar imaging capability.
The ultrasound laboratory is busy performing a wide variety of examinations- obstetric (includes high-risk), small parts, abdominal and vascular (includes transplants and extremities). There are two 3-D ultrasound units and eight Acuson units (three with color).
OHSU is expanding; the new Center for Health and Healing is a 16-story,
400,000 square-foot building located in a four-block area in the South Waterfront of downtown Portland.
The Center houses a new outpatient-imaging center as well as physician practices,
outpatient surgery, the March wellness center, research labs and educational space.
The new Center is connected to the Kohler Pavilion, a new patient care facility on the main campus,
by the aerial tram.
OHSU is located in the west hills of Portland, Oregon. Endless outdoor recreational activities are
easily accessible from the city. The ocean and mountains are less than 1-1/2 hours away. Metropolitan Portland has won many awards for city planning and offers the best of urban living without sacrificing the landscape.
