The mission of
the Center for Health and Disability Policy (CHDP) is to facilitate
improvements in state and federal disability and health policy through
enhanced knowledge obtained with solid research and evaluation methods.
A strong knowledge base in health and disability policy combined
with expertise in applied policy research design, statistics, survey
methods, and database management and integration create a unique
team with the capacity to inform and impact decisions in an increasingly
complex and multidimensional policy environment.
Previous CHDP
projects have focused on the research and evaluation of comprehensive
employment support systems for people with disabilities through
projects funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Centers
for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and additional evaluation activities
in the States of Oregon and Wisconsin.
Currently, CHDP
projects include needs assessments of accessible information technology
for students with disabilities and an evaluation of a project designed
to increase the use of personal assistance services by Oregonians
with psychiatric disabilities.
