Preventive
Medicine Residency Professional Performance Policy
The Professional Performance Policy outlines
the behavioral expectations of the Department of Public Health and
Preventive Medicine for the Preventive Medicine residents.
The Preventive Medicine resident will demonstrate professional behavior
and attitudes at all times when interacting with patients, colleagues,
other professionals, and the community, as a representative of the
residency.
The objectives, as listed below, should serve as a guide for appropriate
demeanor in academic and clinical settings. An ongoing assessment
of these objectives will be part of the evaluation process, as the
resident progresses through the curriculum. These issues will be
discussed during the semi-annual review of the resident’s
progress and elsewhere as needed.
Formal evaluations will be completed twice yearly by the site Preceptor
and the Residency Director. Instances of inappropriate or unprofessional
conduct will be discussed with the resident by the Director and
reviewed for possible remedial or disciplinary action.
The Resident Will:
-

in a clear and appropriate manner

-

assignments in a timely manner
