The PHPM Green Team was established in 2004 to encourage all staff members in the Department of Public Health & Preventive Medicine to participate in their efforts to be more conscious of what type of resources we use and how we use them. They welcome new members and challenge other departments at OHSU to create their own Green Teams.
- Established a recycling center in a convenient location.
- Designed a poster describing the relationship between good public health and improved environmental health. Individual actions are outlined with an emphasis on the fact that every action counts. To view the poster, click here.
- Installed a bulletin board in the community kitchen to display tips, resources and articles.
- Posted reminders to conserve energy and resources throughout the department and asked the front office to stop ordering foam cups and non-biodegradable soap.
- Emailed monthly tips for creating a better environment at work and at home.
- Compiled a list of web resources for further information. To see, click here.
