Information
Education
& Training office begins review of applications once dean's
letters are available through ERAS. All invitations to interview
will also be sent via ERAS.
The Department of
Psychiatry welcomes you to apply for an intern position through
the AAMC
Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
Only completed applications submitted through ERAS
will be reviewed, and because there are a limited number of interview
days, please submit your application by November 1,
2007. It is not necessary to provide a return postcard
or call to check the status of your application; the ERAS system
will notify you as we download your information into our files.
The residency program participates in the NRMP
(National Residency Matching Program) and ERAS,
applicant participation in these programs is required. No
paper applications will be accepted.
If you wish

(required if invited for an interview)

- Personal statement
- Dean's letter
- Two letters of
recommendation (three are preferred)
- Official USMLE
score for Part I or COMLEX score for Part I

International
medical graduates are required to submit the above items
in addition to:
- ECFMG certificate

regarding background and interest in psychiatry

of a J-1 visa
There is no minimum

should contact the ECFMG, (215)386-5900, to obtain more information
about the ERAS application process.
If you are
selected for an interview, an invitation will be extended
via email. The interview is an essential part of the application
process, and involves one full day in Portland. Interviews start
promptly at 9:00 a.m. and include a lunch with some of our residents.
We interview on Wednesdays and Fridays, no holidays
or weekends, November through the first week in February,
excluding the last week in December and the first Friday in January.
We appreciate your
interest in our psychiatry program and welcome your application.
