Clinical and Academic Interests:
David A. Shaw, Ph.D., has been an assistant professor in the OHSU Division of Clinical Psychology, Department of Psychiatry,
since 1997. He has also been a clinical psychologist on the staff of the Portland VA Medical Center (PVAMC) since 1977, and is Director of Family Mental Health Services at the Portland VA. He provides outpatient services to veterans and their families in the areas of family and marital therapy, marital communication, and families and Post-Traumatic Stress. He also provides direct service and consultation on family issues to the VA Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. He is recognized by the staff of the PVAMC as the on-site expert on family matters and is consulted on difficult cases. Dr. Shaw also teaches seminars on family therapy to psychology interns and psychiatry residents and provides co-therapy and supervision.
