Clinical & Research Interests:

Leeza Maron earned her doctoral degree from the University of Florida in May of 2003 in clinical psychology with specialized training in neuropsychology. Her clinical internship was conducted at the University of California San Diego/VA San Diego Healthcare system. She then received post-doctoral training as part of an NIMH funded fellowship in Biological Psychiatry and Neuroscience, also at UCSD.

Dr. Maron’s clinical interests are in the neuropsychological evaluation of adults with a wide range of diagnoses including attention deficit disorder, traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy and dementia as well as other psychiatric and medical illnesses that can result in cognitive dysfunction. The focus of her research is the investigation of neuropsychological mechanisms underlying thought disorder in psychiatric populations using both functional neuroimaging (fMRI) and novel cognitive paradigms. She has published a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals (see below) and regularly presents at scientific meetings. Dr. Maron has recently become interested in applying these methods to the study of adults with attentional dysfunction. In addition to clinical and research interests, Dr. Maron has been active in the education and supervision of medical and graduate students.
