Clinical Practice and Consultation:

Dr. Drummond provides mental health care and consultation services within the Portland VA Medical Center. He manages the mental health clinics in Astoria, Portland, Salem, Vancouver, and Longview. He also teaches and provides clinical supervision to psychology interns, medical students, psychiatry residents, and allied health trainees on rotation at the Portland VA and at OHSU.

Dr. Drummond has consulted with numerous public and private institutions on the topics of workplace violence, threat assessment and threat management. He conducts research, and has published articles and book chapters on suicide, assault within healthcare facilities, clinical management of dangerous patients, and management of threat in the community. Dr. Drummond is called upon frequently to consult with other VA Medical Centers on management of patient and/or employee threats. He has also consulted on these topics to the City of Portland, the American Red Cross, Kaiser Permanente Health Systems, State of Oregon agencies, private health care professionals, and a number of local and federal law enforcement agencies.
