About me

Originally from Oregon, Dr. Sara Schwanke Khilji has had the opportunity to serve in a variety of international settings in pursuit of her work in community health, clinical education, and research. She has worked in Europe, Asia, and Africa and is currently based in Gaborone, Botswana on behalf of the Botswana Global Health Program, a partnership between the OHSU Department of Medicine, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, the Botswana-Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership, and the Botswana Ministry of Health & Wellness. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and completed her residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital with a focus on Primary Care. Her research interests include women's health, health policy, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She is actively involved in clinical and public health education at OHSU and in Botswana.
