About me

I am a specialist in cardiovascular medicine. My research training is in physiology and pharmacology. My clinical activities include work in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, the echocardiography laboratory, the intensive care unit, the cardiology consult service and the outpatient cardiology clinic. I also have a special focus on non-interventional angiography and hemodynamics and coronary care unit medicine. As a result of my clinical work and my research experience, my research activities are broad. I have participated in clinical multicenter trial atrial fibrillation research, studied the effects of estrogen on the human female cardiovascular system and in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

I have also made a significant contribution to laboratory-based research. Current active projects include investigation of the mechanisms of fetal, neonatal and juvenile cardiac growth, maternal and fetal placental function, determinants of arterial pressure in the fetus, neonate and adult, the role of nitric oxide in cardiorespiratory function and the fetal origins of adult cardiovascular disease.
