This second example represents a project where 10 different bands were identified from a 1D gel. Note that the cost per sample has dropped from $170/sample in the example above to only $87/sample here; a savings of about 50%. In general adding additional sample lowers the cost/sample. This is because certain processes, such as trypsin digests and data analysis, can be done in batches without adding much to the total staff time. Please remember that these costs are only examples and the actual charge may vary.
