The purpose of this site is to provide initial background information concerning common poisonings and methods for poison prevention.

The Oregon Poison Center is located on the Oregon Health & Science University Marquam Hill Campus in Portland, Ore. The poison center is an information resource for the state of Oregon. The Oregon Poison Center is the designated regional and nationally certified poison center for Oregon, Alaska, Northern Nevada and Guam. Our medical and public education staff provides 24-hour poison emergency management advice and information to the public and health care professionals.

The Poison center staff is available to assist the media as experts in the field of toxicology. Their goal is to provide the most accurate, complete and consistent information possible for broad distribution to the public.
