Biography

Prof. van Santen is the Director of the Center for Spoken Language Understanding. His primary research is in creating new algorithms for the analysis of biological signals, specifically human speech, language and gesture. Current projects include language in autism spectrum disorders, prosody generation for TTS, prosody in Parkinson's disease, and atypical movement in infants at risk for autism spectrum disorders.
