Biography

Anthony Masciotra is the chief executive officer of the OHSU Practice Plan. The OPP – a 2,100-member group of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other licensed independent providers who are integral to all aspects of clinical care at OHSU – is the largest organized clinical practice in Oregon. In this role, he is responsible for the overall supervision, direction and control of the business activities and affairs of the OPP, including the senior staff responsible for billing/collections, managed care contracting, compliance and ambulatory services. Working with the dean and chief Clinical officer, the OPP CEO is instrumental in developing and implementing new programs and support structures with external providers and health systems that have entered into partnerships and collaborations with OHSU, such as Tuality Healthcare.

Masciotra also holds a position in the School of Medicine as the Senior Associate Dean, Clinical Practice as well as a role within OHSU Health, SVP & Chief Ambulatory and Professional Practice Officer. These roles allow for the integration of the clinical arm of the SoM with the Health System. Masciotra oversees ambulatory strategy, integration of primary care, population health and risk care models, as well as digital health operational strategies.

Masciotra is a member of the Academic Medical Group Leadership Roundtable and the Group on Faculty Practice of the Association of American Medical Colleges and a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Medical Group Management Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Prior to joining OHSU in 2016, Masciotra was CEO of UNM Medical Group, Inc. (UNMMG) – the faculty practice plan supporting the clinical providers and employees within the University of New Mexico's School of Medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master in Business Administration from the UNM Anderson School of Management.
