Biography

Anne Heenan wanted to become a nurse practitioner (NP) since she observed NP practice while working as a lay health worker in a women's health clinic. During her NP practice with underserved populations in various settings, Dr. Heenan stumbled upon the idea of social determinants health. After this epiphany, she completed a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Public Health Nursing. She currenlty combines her interests in teaching, NP practice, and population health promotion within the Old Town Neighborhood of Portland, OR.
