Minimum Requirements
Residency applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. degree from an approved medical school in the United States or Canada or, if graduated from a foreign medical school, must have the qualifications required for admittance to a program in graduate medical education. Physicians may enter the program directly from medical school for their first year of graduate medical education.

- No graduation cut-off
- Previous clinical experience not necessary to apply
Foreign Medical Graduates (If not a US citizen)
Graduates of international medical schools applying for training programs MUST:
- Have a valid certificate from the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates {ECFMG} (this includes passing USMLE Steps 1 and 2; English proficiency test, and a clinical skills assessment test)
- Be able to meet the current requirements for an appropriate U.S. visa (presently J-1), if not a U.S. citizen/permanent resident
- Be able to meet licensure requirements of the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners
- Participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
