MICROBIOLOGY-KAISER     Residents are intended to review with staff reports from all sections of microbiolology and obtain clinical information to assist with the determination of clinical significance/correlation. Estimated procedures #s in 30 days: 1.    Bacteriology 50-100 2.    Mycobacteriology 10-20 3.    Mycology 10-20 4.    Virology 10-20     Consultations occur constantly as regards to questions of identification (degree of certainty), problems of delay or lost specimens, requests for additional or special antibiotic susceptibilities, request for feasibility of other new/additional testing, and numerous other requests.     Residents will interface with microbiology technologists and infectious disease physicians on an ongoing, daily basis and are intended to meet with nurse epidemiologists and to review reporting mechanisms and the daily communications directed from microbiology to them.
