RESIDENCY REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR PATHOLOGY - 2005
It is recommended that the educational experience in Anatomic Pathology include participation in at least 50 autopsies (the resident must be the primary prosector in 40 of these cases)at least 2000 surgicals, 1500 cytologies, and 200 operating room consultations (frozen sections). The resident must keep track of the number of autopsies, bone marrow procedures and FNA's in Resident Case Log System. It is not necessary that the resident keep track of other cases but he/she should be prepared to give a reasonable estimate of the experience when applying for the Board examination in Anatomic Pathology. |
