PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY PROTECTION

Professional liability protection is provided for the House Officer covering all duties and acts performed within the scope of the training program. Medical malpractice liability protection is provided for any of the acts of the House Officer performed outside his/her assigned duties. If Trainee rotates to out of state institution unaffiliated with OHSU, the trainee must attempt to obtain malpractice coverage from the sponsoring institution. If this is unavailable, OHSU will provide malpractice coverage for approved out-of-state rotations. (see also Requests for Rotations Outside the Program)
