TRAINEE Selection The following are required from each applicant applying for postgraduate training: 1. Two signed copies of the OHSU Application Form 2. Completed ERAS application (PGY-1 applicants only) 3. Dean's letter from your medical school 4. Transcripts 5. Personal statement 6. Three letters of recommendation 7. USMLE certificate and scores 8. ECFMG (if foreign medical school graduate) 9. Curriculum vitae 10. Meet foreign medical school graduate requirements if applicable*. Applicants for second postgraduate year (PGY-2) or higher must also supply: 11. Letters of verification from the Program Director(s) of prior residency training, including dates, location and verification of completion 12. Verification of staff positions. Items 3-9 are contained in the ERAS application; separate copies are not required if applying through ERAS *Foreign Medical Graduates (If not a US citizen): Graduates of international medical schools applying for training programs MUST: 13. Have a valid certificate from the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates {ECFMG} (this includes passing USMLE Steps 1 and 2; English proficiency test, and a clinical skills assessment test) 14. Be able to meet the current requirements for an appropriate U.S. visa (presently J-1), if not a U.S. citizen/permanent resident 15. Be able to meet licensure requirements of the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners 16. Participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Additional Information: We accept applications from individuals in the couples match with the NRMP No minimum score requirement No graduation cut-off Previous clinical experience not necessary to apply Residents and fellows are selected based upon their preparedness, abilities, aptitudes, academic credentials, communication skills, as well as personal qualities such as motivation and integrity.
