TriMet & C-TRAN 2009 - 2010 Universal Pass

It’s time to get your annual transit pass. Register online by August 10 and you’ll get your TriMet or C-TRAN pass by mid-August. If you register after August 10, please be sure to wait 24 hours between registering and picking up your pass to allow for processing. This year’s process has been designed to be quicker and easier for all involved. The online registration will get the process started. Once you have registered, you will be eligible to pick up your pass when the distribution process begins in August. Read on for details.

Pass eligibility expanded
Starting this year, passes will be available to anyone who has a valid OHSU ID badge. Newly eligible groups include volunteers and third-party contractors. Spread the word to anyone you know who is newly eligible.

Online pre-registration
To receive a transit pass through OHSU, recipients will need to register in advance via an online registration system. Those who don’t have regular access to OHSU's O-Zone intranet or need assistance with the process can register with the aid Transportation & Parking staff. Just come to the upstairs lobby of the Physical Plant building on Marquam Hill between the hours of 8AM and 4PM for assistance. The registration form will ask questions that will determine your payment options and the type of pass for which you are eligible. Remember - passes are non-transferable. Participants may only purchase 1 pass.

Prices
The cost of transit passes purchased through OHSU this year is $316 for a TriMet Universal Pass and $390 for a C-Tran Portland Express Pass -- a savings of 66% from regular pass price.

Payment options
  • Payroll deduction: Employees paid directly by OHSU can pay for their transit pass through automatic payroll deduction. Payroll deductions occur the first two pay periods of any given month, and are 1/24th the full price of the transit pass.

  • Departmental pay: Departments may pay for the transit passes of employees if they so choose. If a department has not agreed to pay for a transit pass, employees may not choose that payment option. Departments will be charged the full price of an employee’s pass in a single internal billing transaction.

  • Full price, out-of-pocket: Volunteers, unpaid students and third-party contractors will only be able to pay for the full price of the pass up front, at the time the pass is received. Employees may select this option if they choose. The full price of the pass must be paid at the time the pass is received. Payment can be in cash, check or card. Those paying in cash will only be able to pick up their pass from the Transportation & Parking Customer Service Center on the Marquam Hill campus.

Pass distribution
Transit passes will arrive in mid-August. Passes will be available for pick-up at distribution sites located throughout OHSU’s Portland metro-area campuses. Watch the Staff News blog and the Transportation & Parking pages on O-zone to find out where to pick them up.
