 Bicycles inside of OHSU Facilities - Rules and Guidelines

  • Riding bicycles inside OHSU facilities is not permitted.

  • Walking bicycles inside facilities is allowed in common areas where bicycles will not disrupt normal operations, will not unreasonably soil the facility (i.e. muddy tires on carpet), and will not present an infection control hazard.  Individual department and unit managers are responsible for determining the appropriateness of bicycles in their areas, in accordance with these rules and any applicable Hospital Administrative guidelines.

  • Walking or storing bicycles in patient care areas is not permitted (See Hospital Administrative procedure "Bicycles in Healthcare Buildings Procedure").

  • Storing of bicycles in areas not specifically designed for bicycle storage may not be disruptive (see above) and is subject to the approval of the responsible department/unit manager, in accordance with these rules and any applicable Hospital Administrative guidelines.

  • Disabled and Emergency Access: under no circumstances may bicycles be stored/parked in a manner that impedes access for normal operations, for disabled persons (i.e., locked to hand rails), or emergency egress/access (e.g., stairwells, emergency exits, etc.).

CHH Bike Cage

Secured Bike Cages
Access acquired through Transportation & Parking Customer Service. School of Medicine students have their own facility. On Marquam Hill, an employee/student cage located by Dillehunt Hall may reach capacity on weekdays. Three more cages are located at South Waterfront just 90 seconds from the tram. See the facilities map for locations.

Bike Racks & Bike Banks
Sheltered bike racks are located in every parking garage. Casey Eye Institute racks are adjacent to an attended booth. Bike banks (shown left) are reinforced racks that secure both wheels and the frame and are located near the School of Dentistry.

Waitlisted. The School of Nursing and ITG have internally managed bike lockers. For all other employees and students, Sign Up for the Bike Locker Wait List.

Showers
Located throughout campus, including at the Transportation & Parking's Customer Service Center.  See a list of shower locations.  The Student Center on Marquam Hill offers commuter lockers & shower access.  Contact them at 503-494-8295 or studentcenter@ohsu.edu.

Tools & supplies are located at the OHSU Student Center and are provided free to employees and students as a courtesy.
