How PARC works...
Mouse at sippy tube

2. Tracking alcohol consumption

In the laboratory, we can easily control or measure the amount of alcohol that our research subjects consume. The mouse at the right is drinking from a special sipper tube that looks like one you might see at a pet store, but provides precise measurement of how much the mouse is drinking.

Many PARC studies are examining the signs that animals exhibit as they become dependent on alcohol and then withdraw from it. These signs are reasonably similar in mice and humans who have consumed too much alcohol for too long.
