Contribute to PARC's research program

Though therapies exist to help treat alcohol dependence, there is no "magic bullet" that works for every person. Research to develop more effective medications is critical to reducing problem alcohol use and the suffering it causes.

About 1 in 4 children lives in a household in which one or more family members abuse or are dependent on alcohol. Alcohol is a primary or contributing cause in well over 100,000 deaths per year in the United States through drunk driving, liver disease, cancer, heart disease, and AIDS.

The economic costs of alcohol abuse, such as health care, lost productivity, and crime were estimated at more than $184 billion in 1998, the last year for which such data are available.

Make a gift to the Center. Every gift is invaluable and contributes to our fight against alcoholism and our research to find better treatments for addiction.
