Screening

How we address this outcome.

The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) is working to screen all children in foster care for Early Intervention (EI) or special needs services. CaCoon, Babies First and Healthy Start all conduct regular developmental screenings for the children they serve. Our Center staff are working with the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) to revise established and probable risk categories for EI and are continuing to work with the CDRC/ODE Interagency Team's Child Find Committee to review screening tests/protocols for public health nurses and the EI system.

Key Systems Outcome: All children will be screened early and continuously for special health care needs.
