Feeding Clinic

The Feeding Clinic provides a multi-disciplinary approach to the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of children with oral-motor or feeding skills concerns, nutrition issues (slow weight gain, excessive weight gain) and behavioral issues related to mealtime.

Other feeding problems include:

  • dysphagia
  • gastroesophageal reflux
  • malnutrition
  • unspecific nutritional deficiency

Types of Services Offered

Children usually have a meal at Feeding Clinic. The meal usually includes accepted foods as well as foods, textures that may be difficult. Oral-motor skills, feeding issues, behavioral issues are assessed. The team will work with the family to identify strategies that may be helpful. The team will also provide ongoing support, assessment and management as needed.

CDRC Staff in Clinic

The feeding team consists of a therapist, a registered dietician, a developmental pediatrician and a nurse. Consultants include a social worker and a speech therapist, as needed.

Expanded Services

Modified barium swallow studies, ongoing follow-up with a behavioral specialist and referral to a pediatric gastroenterologist are available, as needed.
