Strand Three
Develop health status measurement tool(s) to assess the health and well-being of individuals with disabilities regardless of functional ability. To measure and monitor possible health disparities of people with disabilites compared to the general population, researchers need a measure that is unbiased with respect to functional impairment. Also, to assess the effectiveness of interventions to improve health status, researchers need a measure that is sufficiently sensitive to change as a result of intervention.
