Elena Andresen, PhD
Elena
Andresen completed her PhD in 1991 in epidemiology with joint training
in health services research at the University
of Washington and Seattle
Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services Research and Development
program. She currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department
of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Florida and
as a core investigator at the Rehabilitation Outcomes Research Center
at the Gainesville
VAMC. Her funded work includes fifteen years developing and evaluating
measures of health related quality of life in general populations,
for older adults, for use in rehabilitation sciences, and for people
with disability. Dr. Andresen is involved in developing a more specific
disability, rehabilitation, and public health curriculum and research
focus at the University
of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions.
The student body of this new program, as well as junior faculty, serves
as a recruitment pool for work on the RRTC: Health & Wellness.
