Health Promotion
The RRTC: Health & Wellness studies the best ways of promoting health for people with disabilities. Despite demonstrated need, the information, practices and resources needed to realize an active healthy lifestyle have not been generally available for most people with disabilities.
We work to identify interventions in areas such as exercise, nutrition, pain management, or complementary and alternative therapies that promote health and wellness. We also look for interventions that minimize the occurrence of secondary conditions for persons with disabilities.
Health Promotion studies include:
- Validation Criteria for Health Promotion Study
- Ratings of Health Intervention Programs
- State of the Science Conference
- Junior Faculty Mentors Program
- Graduate Leadership Training in Disability and Health
- Disability and Public Health Course
- Internet Empowerment for Wellness Project
