HealthCare Access
The RRTC: Health & Wellness studies health care access for people with disabilities. We know that access to quality and timely health care is an established leading indicator of population health in the U.S. and a means to eliminating health disparities and improving quality of life. We also know that the underutilization of routine health care by individuals with disabilities has many contributors that include financial, physical/environmental, and societal barriers.
We work to identify strategies to overcome barriers that impede access to routine healthcare for individuals with disabilities through the research studies listed below.
Healthcare Access studies include:
- Barriers and Strategies Validation Study
- Clinic Access Checklist Reliability Study
- Health Care Access Intervention Study
- State of the Science Conference
- PATHS- Promoting Access to Health Services Training Initiative
- Graduate Leadership Training in Disability and Health
- Disability and Public Health Course
- Internet Empowerment for Wellness Project
- Dissemination Outreach Strategies Project
