Module 1 - We Begin with Strong Roots
Module 1 is a starting point for learning about PAR.This module gives basic information about health research and community participation. It helps people understand important lessons we can learn by studying the history of research.
After finishing Module 1, you will understand significant reasons for using PAR. The topics and objectives covered in Module 1 include:
- Health Research Objectives: Define what the term health research means Share examples of how health research can help people
- Community Participation Objectives: Define the term community Show why community participation is important Identify differences between traditional and participatory research
- The Importance of the History of Research Objectives: To understand the history of key research ethics To identify key ethics documents
